What are commissioning plans?
A commissioning plan defines how systems will be brought into service: the order in which they are commissioned, the dependencies between them, who does what, the checks and tests at each stage, and the records that prove it was done. It connects the inspection and test plans for individual systems with the integrated systems testing that proves they work together.
What's included
- Commissioning sequence and dependencies between systems
- Roles and responsibilities for each activity
- Links to the relevant ITPs, cause & effect matrices and IST narratives
- Programme dates and milestones for each stage
- The records and sign-offs needed for handover
How EJH produces commissioning plans
We build the commissioning plan around your programme and the interfaces between systems, so each system is ready when the next one needs it. Milestones are tracked live, and approved commissioning documents are published to your Client Portal as they are issued.
What it means for your project
- Commissioning runs in the right order, with fewer delays
- Clear responsibilities across contractors and suppliers
- Integrated testing starts with every system ready
- A complete record for handover and acceptance
Frequently asked questions
What is a commissioning plan?
A commissioning plan sets out how and in what order systems are brought into service, with responsibilities, checks, tests and the records required at each stage.
How does it relate to IST?
The commissioning plan brings each system to a tested, working state. Integrated systems testing then proves the systems work together, using the cause & effect matrix and IST narrative.
Can you manage commissioning as well as plan it?
Yes. Through our project support service we can lead or support commissioning on site.
